This was formerly a site featuring the fashion brand Francis by Christian Francis Roth.
In 1990 at the age of 21, Christian Francis Roth was heralded by the fashion industry as 7th Avenue’s latest prodigy. His clothes featured whimsical pop art references evident in the now classic “Rothola” crayon dress and trompe loeil “Breakfast Suit”. Roth’s original designs won him the coveted CFDA “Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent” and placed many of his designs on exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
Christian’s new contemporary brand “Francis”, launched in 2009, follows in the footsteps of his earlier work. Rich in playful detailing, fresh color and offbeat charm, it’s a collection that communicates a fun and feminine image. Custom designed prints, limited edition artist collaborations, and special fabric treatments are some of the things that give Francis its unique, happy signature.
Every Francis collection tells a story. Fall 2011’s “Mod Citizen” is a 60’s jetsetter inspired by the golden age of flying. Her bags are packed with fabulous dresses, coats and item tops and she’s ready for takeoff!
Inspired by the work of iconic lifestyle photographer Slim Aarons, the Spring 2012 collection celebrates his glamorous subjects at play, while they bounced between Palm Beach, Beverly Hills, Newport and Bermuda in the 1970’s
